How to Get .SpatialApp

Use the downloads tab to download a release build.

 

How to Build .SpatialApp

Building the source requires the following steps:

  1. Download the source from the Source Code Tab
  2. Download the source of DotSpatial from http://dotspatial.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets
  3. Download Visual Studio Controls from https://www.devexpress.com/ClientCenter/Downloads/
  4. Build DotSpatial.
  5. Open the DotSpatialApp.sln
  6. Resolve the missing references
  7. View the project properties and uncheck Sign the ClickOnce manifests on the signing tab.

what kind of license term needed to develop application for commercial release?

Yes, if you want to develop this project you will need a license. You can also contribute to the DotSpatial project, without getting involved with the DevExpress controls.

The version is updated over time, so you will want to get the latest version. Yes, you will want a license to compile the source, but you can use our compiled release royalty-free.

On step 3, it is suggested to download Visual Studio Controls from DevExpress. Which package/version? Do I have to own a lisence for the Visual Controls from DevExpress in order to compile the source?
